How do you handle writer’s block?

If I’m in the middle of a story I usually don’t block — mostly because I have at least a general idea of where I want to go, what I want to say, but once I finish a project…

I

get.

Stuck.

It’s actually really bad right now. I feel like I don’t have stories floating around in my brain, like I’m totally tapped. Or I know that the ones I do have aren’t robust enough for anything ‘real’ or they’re just trite and not really worth working on. Right now, I have — I don’t know, I have fragments of ephemeral nothingness that won’t weave into anything larger.

This is probably why a lot of writers have several plates spinning at once, so they never “finish” anything, not really.

I honestly have no idea what my solution for that is. I don’t have one. It’s a struggle and I’m still learning how to figure it out.
